Locksmith

Locksmith
FCDO Services
£29,586 plus additional overtime, a location allowance and excellent benefits
Based in London or Hanslope Park with overseas travel (you’ll receive a short tour allowance and expenses)

If you’re a qualified locksmith this is an exceptional opportunity to take the next step in your career, and to see the world at the same time. We’re looking for someone with the talent and enthusiasm to undertake further highly skilled training and support our work all over the world.
What we do here at FCDO Services takes us to some incredible places – we protect the UK’s interest’s right across the globe. It’s a remit that could see us designing and constructing secure government buildings. Help earthquake-proof embassies. And a whole lot more besides. Much of our work is about ensuring that the UK remains secure. Which is why we rely on talented Locksmiths. If it’s an area you’re interested in, then we would love to hear from you.
Make your mark, near and far
You’ll be part of a team that works globally. Your time will be split between our London offices and overseas – typically, you can expect to find yourself working across our London offices, then overseas assisting with a maintenance or build program, then back home in the UK for breakfast – all in the same month. It’s a role that offers plenty of variety as you play a vital role in providing security for the UK and its citizens at home and overseas.
Across everything you do, you’ll help to enhance our reputation for reliability and responsiveness. You’ll build strong relationships with all sorts of colleagues and customers, drawing upon your excellent interpersonal skills.

Open up a world of possibility
Your time in the UK will see you supporting the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office at King Charles Street, helping to resolve issues for people at all levels. You can expect to prepare equipment for our workshop, undertake interesting development work on new products, carry out ordering for tools and materials and, when you’ve settled into the role, provide quotes to project managers. When you’re working overseas, your focus will be on inspecting and advising on locks at secure government sites, as well as fitting security locks on government buildings across the globe.

Unlock opportunity in a more rewarding environment
You will be working as or have worked as a Locksmith – an MLA accreditation would be ideal, but isn’t essential. It could be that you’re currently a student member. What matters most here though is your enthusiastic approach. You’ll be keen to learn and looking to make the most of all the training opportunities we can offer you as you progress your career. You’ll be working with people at all levels beyond your immediate team, so good people skills are also a must.
If that sounds like you, this is an environment that offers a whole host of rewards and benefits. We have an accessible training budget, we’ll provide all of your tools and equipment, and you’ll benefit from international travel. There are also a number of other allowances to support you when you’re in London, and when you’re abroad. We offer full sick pay, 25 days’ leave which rises to 30 days after five years (plus nine days’ of Public Holidays and Privilege Holidays); the opportunity to buy or sell 10 days of annual leave each year; access to an exclusive discounts portal, offering year-round deals with high street brands and subsidised on-site gym facilities and exercise classes.
