You’ve got proven skills in carpentry and joinery, metalwork, or electronics, but you’ve never put them to such important use as you will as a technician in our workshop. This is a unique opportunity to deliver bespoke wood products for customers whose work is vitally import to the nation.

With a relevant Level 2 qualification and applied experience, you’ll bring to the role good knowledge of workshop health & safety and relevant machine safety regulations. You know how to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications – and you’re keen to be part of a collaborative team doing work that really matters. With us, you’ll thrive.

Develop new skills in a unique future-focused workshop

Producing bespoke wood products to set designs, you’ll work in a safe and secure way to deliver excellent quality work to agreed timescales and costs. Along the way, you’ll liaise with customers to make sure the products we produce meet their needs. You’ll also demonstrate your pride in the workshop environment by taking part in planned and preventative maintenance of machinery, and proactively maintaining a well-stocked and tidy workspace.

Keen to develop technical skills outside your own area of expertise, you’ll enjoy opportunities to take part in research and development for future products and services. You will also relish the opportunity to supervise apprentices and help them to grow with FCDO Services.
