This is an interior design role like no other. From creating concepts, to designing bespoke furniture, lighting, joinery and layouts, you’ll contribute to all kinds of projects, in all manner of properties, for customers all around the globe. One thing they’ll all have in common – from embassies to high commissions to ambassadors’ residences, these spaces are integral to government and the national interest.

Designing and building brand-new embassies in bustling cities and remote locations. Collaborating with architects, engineers and surveyors to design and reconfigure a high commission’s office space. Designing a public reception space within a Head of Mission residence.

Create concepts and designs for modern and historic properties worldwide
From preparing mood boards and concept designs to refit a state-of-the-art embassy in Bangkok, through to researching and designing bespoke lighting for a 19th century ambassadors’ residence in the Netherlands, as a Senior Interior Designer you’ll make a real impact. In this varied role, you’ll deliver a wide range of single discipline interior design projects and make valued contributions to large multi-disciplinary property and construction projects around the world.
Taking the lead on the day-to-day design, management and implementation of interior design projects. You’ll deliver to our customers’ priorities on time, in budget and to the highest standards. Working closely with customers and senior stakeholders, you’ll provide professional design and technical advice, help them to develop their brief, and produce tender drawings and specs that satisfy every requirement.
Deliver projects for customers who protect the national interest
A commitment to understand customers’ needs and expectations will be key to your success. You’ll also need the communication skills and collaborative spirit to work effectively with architectural, engineering and specialist sub-consultants, project teams, and Quantity Surveying. Proactively keeping up to date with the latest industry advancements, materials and technologies, you seamlessly incorporate innovation into design initiatives. Crucially, you’re also enthusiastic about the prospect of overseas work.
Qualified with a relevant degree or equivalent, you’ll bring to the role project and integrated design delivery experience at all RIBA stages. Ideally, your experience will span residential, office and commercial interior design. You’ll certainly have a full spectrum of technical skills and knowledge – from technical drawing and FF&E, through to expertise in CAD and Adobe software for visualisation and design documentation.
