Employing imaginative and effective approaches to project and change management, and making sure that people related risks and issues are mitigated and managed, you’ll also embed a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Building strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be key to your success, as will coaching our senior leaders in the skills they’ll need to embed change across their teams.

You’ll have a wide range of additional responsibilities – these include developing organisational change guidance, processes and templates that comply with our organisation’s policies, leading on the development of positive relationships with Trades Unions, and ensuring we meet all our legal obligations. We’ll also expect you to work with HR Business Partners and senior colleagues in supporting their teams through periods of change, with a focus on developing robust plans to address the people and legal implications arising from change projects and work with relevant teams to help formulate solutions that meet the development requirements that support new ways of working.

Help to implement HR policies that protect the UK’s interests around the world

As an experienced Senior HR professional, you’ll have superb project management skills and a well developed understanding of how to lead the people aspects of complex change initiatives. You should have a background in employee relations with plenty of operational HR practical experience in complex organisations with experience of delivering organisational or cultural change. In addition to being capable of leading consultations and negotiations with Trades Unions, you should also have expert knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.

An inspirational leader and networker with the ability to influence and challenge at junior and senior levels, you’ll have the skills to use data and evidence as you make effective decisions. A Level 7 CIPD qualification or its equivalent would be desirable, as would an understanding of Civil Service protocols, HR policies and controls, and any experience of working in a commercial environment would be an advantage.
