In this role, we’ll ask you to use your health and safety knowledge – and in particular your experience of developing easy-to-follow guidance – to deliver policies, procedure and governance, and support our risk management strategies.

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more.

For our organisation, the safety and security of our teams and our information is more than a want, it’s a must. That’s what makes our Corporate Governance team so vital. They’re the people either supporting health and safety at home and overseas or protecting vital data. By following best practices, balancing interests, managing risks, and upholding policies they protect our organisation. Now, you've got the opportunity to join them.

Setting the standard for success.
Assuring trust and safety at every level.
Knowing your decisions are valued.
It all matters.

Support our teams and protect us all

Working here is all about keeping people and assets safe. That’s true in every position here, but no more so than in this role. Here, you’ll support FCDO Services teams in meeting their statutory and policy compliance and help everyone to set and achieve their safety targets.

Share your knowledge and lead the way

You’ll also lead – and improve the performance of – our near-miss programme across Corporate Groups, providing health and safety coaching to supervisors and teams, as well as managing all aspects of our health and safety performance information. With the insights you gather, you’ll recommend ways to improve safety risk management, reduce losses, and prevent injuries.

You’ll oversee the FCDO Services H&S Governance processes and networks, support accident and incident investigations, and maintain our health and safety audit programmes and records. Your work is crucial because it enables FCDO Services teams to operate safely and respond effectively when needed.

Provide the guidance that empowers everyone

If you have experience of managing, analysing and reporting on health and safety performance information across an international platform and you can develop easy-to-follow guidance, you could be the perfect for this role. If you also bring experience of audits, statutory compliance inspections and delivering training, even better.

Whatever your skills, you’ll need to be a member of a relevant professional body and hold the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, equivalent or working towards.

Working with us you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.

Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
