At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.

We have our own goals for the coming years. And, with the help of our Personal Assistant and administrative support team, we're ready to achieve them. This team is the vital link between our daily tasks and our future vision, expertly managing resources and supporting key stakeholders. They provide a consistently attentive day-to-day service that keeps our organisation meeting its targets and goals.

Supporting key stakeholders.
Expertly managing resources.
Building on your organisation skills.
It all matters.

You’re a highly organised Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant who is excited about the immense value that you can add to our team. You’re happy to turn your hand to any challenge so that we can deliver our ambitious business objectives, and your tactful approach is underpinned by a determination to support the senior leadership team in an unparalleled portfolio of programmes. From planning events through to compiling confidential information, you’ve got the ability to prioritise a wealth of exciting challenges.

Handle an array of executive duties across career-defining projects.
FCDO Services might not be an organisation that you’ve heard of, but our invaluable work underpins worldwide relationships. Join our friendly team, and you’ll be involved in a fascinating array of projects benefitting not only the UK government, but also friendly foreign government-level customers. Providing a seamless level of support to an Executive Director within the Chief of Operations portfolio, you’ll help them achieve their goals. That means you might be tasked with managing their diary arrangements so that they can navigate time zones and access online conferences with embassies around the world. Or you might prepare papers and briefing notes for visiting dignitaries from high commissions – plus you’ll handle the Executive Director’s inbox and determine their next priorities so that they can make the best use of their time. A calm approach and your ability to follow-up with stakeholders at all levels will make you an invaluable asset to the team.

Anticipating the needs of the team, find a role to be proud of.
Working flexibly to meet to the needs of each day, your previous experience of supporting customers or stakeholders will mean that you can adapt to emerging priorities. Whether you’re asked to take minutes in a meeting or conduct research to plan successful overseas trips for senior leaders, you’ll appreciate the importance of working quickly and efficiently. With that in mind, you’ll know how to utilise a variety of formats to present data and information succinctly, and you’ll have exceptional Microsoft Office skills. Regardless of whether you’re engaging face-to-face with senior colleagues to maintain the progress of key initiatives, or you’re connecting with support staff to ensure departmental deadlines are being met, you’ll need fluent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to build relationships.

Develop your skills, wherever you are
Working with us you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
