With the confidence to communicate with people at all levels, you’re a highly motivated team worker and ready to provide a superb Project Management service. And in addition to being a collaborative, customer-focused leader, you’re capable of using the very latest technology and applications. But now you want a new challenge. A role where you’ll use all your interpersonal skills to empower your colleagues and drive genuine, positive change. A career with real influence and importance. Here at FCDO Services we’ve got a unique opportunity for you, one that will see you managing and coaching multi-functional teams as you work on a range of important projects.

As a trusted government partner, we work in a huge range of areas, and help protect the UK’s interests at home and around the world. We maintain and develop complex systems that support the FCDO and other government departments with new AI reviewing software solutions. Now we’re looking for a team-focused professional to manage the hardware and software applications needed for the successful delivery and development of our Digital Sensitivity Review service.

Help us select and preserve important records at The National Archives

The Digital Sensitivity Review service we’ve developed enables the UK’s Government departments to meet the requirements of Public Records legislation by selecting, reviewing and transferring digital records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at The National Archives. As the Project Manager of one of the service’s teams it will be your task to schedule major work packages and forecast work with a view to ensuring the best use of our resources.

Support our clients and stakeholders as your deliver a wide range of projects

You’ll have a wide range of additional responsibilities – these include ensuring we stay on budget, setting the cost and resources baseline, and conducting effective analysis. You’ll work to ensure that all the projects you and your team focus on are delivered in line with our governance framework, and undertake mapping to identify and understand our stakeholders’ interests, influences and expectations. We’ll also expect you to escalate any risk management issues, organise and run meetings with our partner clients, and collaborate with other government departments on legislative matters.

Use all your Project Management skills as you help protect our national security interests

Committed to managing projects in the most positive and efficient way possible, when it comes to qualifications you should possess a Prince 2 Practitioner, APMP, ISEB Certification in Project Management or their equivalent. We’ll also look for applied Project Management methodologies in project design, development and implementation, and well-developed practical experience of MS Project or an equivalent planning tool. Any experience of products such as M_o_R® and M_o_V® would be desirable, as would knowledge of analysis techniques, business and systems, and their application in a project environment. In addition, an understanding of records management and the latest developments in AI would be a bonus.

Grow your career in the biggest way possible

When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas – but how will we help you in return? As well as a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service pension, we’ll also support your development with training opportunities to help you advance your career with us. Our superb range of benefits also includes an on-site gym, nursery and canteen at our offices, and interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there.

If you’re successful with your application you’ll need to achieve Developed Vetting security clearance. This process can take some time, but the end result – an exciting and fulfilling career with FCDO Services – means that it’s well worth the wait.
