Fire Alarms Lead Technician

Fire Alarm Lead Technician

£35,510 - £44,197 plus, £1,750 location allowance and excellent benefits, including a Civil Service pension
Based in Hanslope Park near Milton Keynes, MK19 7BH, with the flexibility of hybrid working depending on business need.

You're an expert in fire alarm systems, dedicated to upholding standards and finding effective solutions. Put simply, you’ve got the kind of skills that keep people and places safe. Now let’s apply them to globally impactful projects.

At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We courier diplomatic packages across continents. We help earthquake-proof embassies. And a whole lot more besides. As a Fire Alarm Lead Technician, you’ll help us to support government customers by installing and maintaining fire alarm systems.

Keep safety systems running smoothly worldwide.

Each day in this role, you'll be the person making sure our customers’ fire alarm systems are always reliable and fully operational. Whether you’re producing material lists from CAD drawings, overseeing installations with precision, or conducting diagnostic checks to uncover faults, your expertise and dedication will shine through in all you do.

Beyond safety, collaboration is also vital in this role. You'll be working closely with design engineers to turn their plans into reality. Alongside the electrical team, you'll provide essential support during installations, and you'll play a crucial role in coordinating IT resources, tools, equipment, and work instructions.

Support colleagues' growth as you enhance your own.

As an expert in this field, you'll freely share your knowledge of fire alarm systems with colleagues, helping them develop their understanding. Along with this, you'll make sure project managers stay in the loop to keep everything running smoothly for customers and stakeholders.
With two years of hands-on experience in the world of fire alarm systems, you've not only gained technical confidence but also a strong understanding of various systems, including Gent Vigilon. Additionally, your knowledge of BS 5839 British Standards and knowledge of electrical installations make you a well-rounded professional, ready to tackle any exciting challenges that come your way.

Discover a career that could take you anywhere.

When you join us, you’ll be helping to protect the nation’s interests at home and overseas. This is a role with global reach, so you’ll need to be willing to travel where projects need you. In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary, 25 days’ annual leave and an excellent Civil Service pension. You’ll also have access to a wide range of training and development opportunities.
And while on-site at Hanslope Park, you’ll have access to an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. Above all else, you’ll feel pride in doing work that helps us protect people, information, and assets here and overseas. It’s time to do your job, bigger.

A note on security clearance

Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
