As part of HM Government we work on a huge range of projects, and help protect the UK’s interests around the world. You will play a vital role in the success of our Engineering and Operations directorate that protects people, information and assets worldwide.
Help manage the essential skills and apprenticeship requirements we need
As a member of the Security Systems team which sits within Engineering and Operations, you will ensure that everyone in the team has appropriate equipment, security briefings and access to our offices. Apprenticeships are a key aspect to the training of our technical teams and growth of our capacity and capability, so you will work with subject matter experts to identify skills gaps within the team, and coordinate training, with a particular focus on the day-to-day management of our apprenticeship scheme. You will arrange appropriate exposure to live working environments for our technical apprentices, providing support when issues and problems arise, and making an active contribution to the smooth running of our training programs. You will have scope to develop and grow the current apprenticeship scheme and ensure it is fit for the future.
Use your management and people skills to support critical government work
To be a success in this role you will have experience of developing and working with apprentices, and possess superb stakeholder management skills. Capable of analysing, interrogating and evaluating data, you will also be an excellent capacity planner with experience of line or matrix management.
