Project Site Engineer

You’re an excellent problem solver and an even better communicator. Someone with extensive construction site management experience and a recognised construction qualification. And you’re an expert in health and safety in construction. So have you ever considered taking your career to a global level?

At FCDO Services, you could do your job, bigger. We protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We courier diplomatic packages across continents. We help earthquake-proof embassies. We review records of historical importance. And a whole lot more besides. As a Project Site Engineer, you’ll be a representative to our customers – overseas and across the UK – ensuring they receive the best possible service.

Manage site projects that protect the UK’s best interests

You’ve delivered a wealth of construction projects, so you’ll have no issue managing all building and related works. This will include everything from inspecting workmanship and quality, to monitoring contractors’ health and safety on site. You’ll inspect and report on all works, including disputes and critical issues, providing feedback throughout the entire project. And, as well as liaising with ambassadors and contractors, you’ll also report directly to customers on project progress. That’s why you’ll be easy to work with, reliable, responsive, and great at building relationships.

Carry out key administration tasks that support work of national importance

You’ve got strong knowledge and experience with construction administration, so you’ll be comfortable creating and reviewing contracts, budgets, architectural drawings and design documents. This role includes lots of overseas travel and work on sites across the UK, so you’ll be excited to work all over the world. What’s more, you love to get struck in, so you’ll be ready to get hands-on at sites, taking measurements and samples to make sure work meets specification and quality standards.

Develop the skills you need to help people everywhere

When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas. How will we help you in return? Well, you’ll receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and Civil Service pension. Plus, when you travel, all your expenses will be paid, you’ll receive a diplomatic service allowance and a cost-of-living allowance. And depending on the country you’ve travelled to you’ll also receive hazardous condition pay. Above all, it’s a chance to join a team with rare impact, using your skills to help us protect people, information and assets around the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
