Senior Government Relationship Manager

Are you ready to take your career to the next level with an organisation that helps to protect the nation’s interests? If you’re passionate about knowledge and information management and delivering a world-class service, then we could have just the role for you.

Whatever skills you’ve already developed, why not think about applying them on a global scale? That’s because here at FCDO Services, the work we do is challenging and far-reaching. Our teams in the UK and abroad provide secure construction, logistics and digital services to government-level customers around the world. And you could play a vital part in our work as a Senior Business Relationship Manager.

Deliver the commercial management of IT service business opportunities

When you join us in this important role you’ll deliver high quality proposals for the commercial management of IT service business opportunities. These should meet customers’ needs, be commercially viable and carry an agreed and defined level of risk. It’s important that the cost of each bid proposal is fully understood, contributes positively to the underlying P&L and is within the technical capabilities of our products and services.

Other responsibilities will include guaranteeing the accuracy all contractual documentation and financial systems information, and ensuring the pipeline of future work is clearly defined and communicated. You’ll also manage relationships with key customer stakeholders and our product and services teams to understand, prioritise and deliver all aspects of a customer’s commercial requirements.

Use all your relationship and service delivery skills

With wide ranging experience of relationship management and ITIL and Agile certification at foundation level, you’ll have an understanding of service delivery across its whole life cycle. Capable of articulating service management and support requirements, you’ll have good knowledge of financial analysis and costing, and your excellent communication skills will enable you to work well as part of a team.

You’ll have well developed bid management and development skills, and be a confident account manager and planner. Adept at costing products, projects and services, we’ll also expect you to be an excellent line manager and business forecaster. Commercially aware, you’ll be at advantage if you possess strong numerical and analytical skills.

Amplify your skillset on an impressive scale

A career with FCDO Services is like no other. You’ll bring a brilliant skillset with you, but the work you’ll be doing will help you to amplify it on a larger scale. And in addition to benefits like a generous 25 days of annual leave, a Civil Service pension and flexible hybrid working options, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with the organisation’s initiatives. Like our RE:Think scheme, which will give you an opportunity to share your ideas on how we can improve our services, reduce waste, increase revenue and transform the way we work together.

But the best bit? Join us, and you’ll work with a unique sense of purpose, using your skills to help maintain a business that protects people, information and assets all around the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

All of our employees have to be security cleared before being appointed, so you’ll need to undergo a vetting process as part of your application. This role requires you to go through Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.

It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world.

The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues, with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And why we’re recognised as a ‘Carer Confident’ workplace. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.
