Personnel Logistics Officer (Travel Team)

Are you ready to take your career to the next level with an organisation that helps to protect the nation’s interests? If you’re passionate about knowledge and information management and delivering a world-class service, then we could have just the role for you.

Whatever skills you’ve already developed, why not think about applying them on a global scale? That’s because here at FCDO Services, the work we do is challenging and far-reaching. Our teams in the UK and abroad provide secure construction, logistics and digital services to government-level customers around the world. And you could play a vital part in our work as a Personnel Logistics Officer.

Help provide a trouble-free global travel experience for our staff

Join us in this role and you’ll be responsible for arranging flights, booking hotels, securing and requesting visas, renewing passports and performing a number of other travel-related tasks for our staff. Requests will come to you through a shared mailbox, which will be managed and delegated by one of your team leaders. However, when you become confident in your role you might be asked to manage this for a few hours at a time.

When making bookings you’ll need to factor in cost effective options, where people need to be and when and a wide range of other matters, so you’ll be working in a dynamic, high pressure environment. It’s essential that you ensure travel options meet customer requirements and are in line with our booking process and travel policy, and you’ll also be required to evaluate routes and provide recommendations that show value for money and efficiencies.

Use all your communication, planning and organising skills

With highly effective communication skills, you’ll be capable of building relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority, explain processes and ensure these are adhered to. Capable of understanding and following processes and guidelines, you’ll possess good time management skills, be able to plan and organise activities effectively and meet tight deadlines.

A ’can do’ attitude is essential, as is high attention to detail and accuracy in your record-keeping. Committed to delivering great customer service, we’ll also expect you to be a excellent planner and organiser with great stakeholder management skills.

Amplify your skillset on an impressive scale

A career with FCDO Services is like no other. You’ll bring a brilliant skillset with you, but the work you’ll be doing will help you to amplify it on a larger scale. And in addition to benefits like a generous 25 days of annual leave, a Civil Service pension and flexible hybrid working options, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with the organisation’s initiatives. Like our RE:Think scheme, which will give you an opportunity to share your ideas on how we can improve our services, reduce waste, increase revenue and transform the way we work together.

But the best bit? Join us, and you’ll work with a unique sense of purpose, using your skills to help maintain a business that protects people, information and assets all around the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

All of our employees have to be security cleared before being appointed, so you’ll need to undergo a vetting process as part of your application. This role requires you to go through Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.
