Lead Engineer Application Operations

This role sits at the heart of our work. Join us, and you’ll oversee a stream of project delivery and support work done by our Hosting Applications team – shaping and developing this essential service.

Develop systems that help to save lives

This role will help to transform the way we deliver our projects and services. For example, we are developing an ‘off-the-shelf’ model, where the aim is that all the team’s projects will run off the same system and/or processes. Your role in this will be ensure the effectiveness of this new approach.

Day to day, you will manage a team of Application engineers within an ITIL support framework, and ensure the quality of support given to our customers is of the highest standards. You will also support project opportunities through to delivery.

Your problem-solving skills will need to be exceptional. On a daily basis, you will lead your team of engineers to overcome complex issues, manage changes and deliver guidance to projects. Ensuring our products are maintained and appropriately supported within our application estate, you’ll make sure it all works seamlessly. You will also help shape the strategic future of Hosting as part of the Hosting management team.

Apply your technical expertise in a way that really matters

As our technical point of contact for Application related major incidents, you will be supporting operational bridge calls, so it’s essential that you are calm in a crisis. What’s more, you will need a comprehensive understanding of Windows Server and Office suites, SQL, CRM, SharePoint, Web Development and Application Hosting experience on platforms such as VMWare, Citrix, Azure and AWS. You’ll chair meetings, and present to colleagues across the organisation, so your communication skills will need to be good too. As you will be working within secure environments, you will need to have a strong understanding of the importance of physical and IT security, and ideally prior experience working within higher tier classifications.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you’ll need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining. Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.
