Associate Engineer Infrastructure Operations - Compliance

At FCDO Services, we provide secure construction, digital and logistics services to all sorts of government-level customers, including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. We help keep people, information and assets safe and secure through impressive projects, like making earthquake repairs at an embassy or ensuring government teams have secure IT infrastructure.

To keep doing the pivotal work that we do, we need an Associate Engineer to make their difference as part of our Infrastructure Operations team. The role involves supporting, managing and maintaining the core infrastructure that underpins our production services.

Interrogate data to help protect the UK’s interests

As an Associate Engineer within the team, you’ll help engineers in their daily work; learning from their direction while showing your initiative to own decisions, actions and problems. In fact, an interest in technical problems – and a probing mind to solve them – will get you far in this role.

We’re looking for someone who can dig deep into systems, processes and services; detect incidents, investigate them, understand them, then find the best way to solve them. And it’s not just about registering and remedying issues, we want you to come up with ideas to prevent them, too. On top of this, you’ll install and configure hardware and software, and carry out routine operational procedures.

Flex your skills where they matter

Bring your skills in IT, your experience in managing assets and configuration, and we’ll give you the challenges to energise the problem-solver in you. Always customer-focused, you’ll use your technical understanding of hardware, software, networking systems and associated Security Procedures, to analyse and interrogate data. It’s also important that you have the relevant experience and a NVQ Level 3 qualification to hit the ground running within the team. And in everything you do, you’ll make sure we’re always focused on customer service; on building relationships and being reliable, responsive, and easy to work with.

Be rewarded for your influential work

We’re asking for a lot, but you’ll get a lot back in return. First, there’s the excellent benefits that come with being a Civil Servant, including a great pension, excellent on-site facilities, and not to mention the sense of pride and purpose you’ll feel each day – knowing your skills help protect people, information and assets around the world. We’ll encourage you to keep developing with plenty of training, mentorship, and opportunities to stay up to date with best practice and new technologies to help you grow and progress. Altogether, it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.
