Technical Architect - London Services

We are FCDO Services. We provide services to government departments that protect people and information all over the world. Our work is vital, whether it’s secure construction of an embassy or safe delivery of government supplies across continents. Then of course, there’s our digital expertise, with work ranging from secure network solutions for government agencies to secure cloud platforms that store UK visa applications.

As a Technical Architect here, you’ll be at the heart of that effort. You’ll work closely with your Service owner to develop compliant, innovative solutions, as well as supporting the wider digital community in an Agile environment.

Deliver solutions that defend the UK’s interests

Within your area, you’ll lead on delivering high-level and low-level technical designs both for our organisation and wider government departments. In everything you do, you’ll ensure our work is best-practice and compliant with all industry and policy standards. Naturally, that means you’ll have extensive experience. From VMware and hyperconverged infrastructure environments to Cisco Networking, your technical skills will be outstanding – and you’ll be confident explaining your work in clear terms for non-technical colleagues too.

Solve problems together – and protect information everywhere

You know that an organisation is stronger when everyone shares their knowledge. So, when people need help, even if it’s not in your own area, you’ll always pitch in, advising others wherever you can. At the end of the day, you want every project we work on to be of exceptional quality, meeting the high security standards of government – and you’ll collaborate with a wide range of technical and non-technical colleagues to solve the unique challenges that come our way.

Provide strategic insight with an international impact

Creating a detailed and ambitious roadmap, you’ll feed into the overall strategy of the Director and the Chief Architect, lending them your insight to ensure that we stay ahead of the curve and are competitive in our market. And when you do, you’ll be making sure that our government customers get the very highest standards in secure technology, keeping vital data and services safe every day. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world.
The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues, with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And Employers for Carers. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.

All our employees have to be security cleared before being appointed, so you will need to undergo a vetting process as part of your application. This role requires you to go through Developed Vetting (DV). You can find out more about vetting on our website.
