Who we are
If you haven’t heard of FCDO Services, it’s time you did. We work behind the scenes, but this makes what we do even more interesting. Our job is to help the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (and other government customers) protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. You’ll find us on every continent and in almost every country around the world. Every colleague makes a vital difference. So, the work you do here will mean more.

What you’ll do
Ever wondered how you’d pack up an entire gym’s worth of equipment or transport a secure conference room safely to the other side of the world? These are just some of the fascinating problems you could solve when you’re part of the expert team providing diplomatic secure logistics, courier services and airfreight to embassies and consulates all around the world. Handling important goods for government-level customers, you’ll work across mail goods in, issuing, ordering, and stock control. As part of this, you’ll pack, bag and manifest diplomatic mail, helping with collection and operational mail delivery.

Where you’ll work
You’ll be based at our Milton Keynes headquarters in Hanslope. Inside our warehouse logistics distribution centre, you’ll join the team who helped support the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office in the fight against COVID-19. From transporting life-saving equipment to India to aiding the global deployment of vaccines for UK government agency staff in 182 different countries Worldwide.

How you’ll grow
At the same time, you’ll benefit from outstanding on-the-job learning that equips you with new skills for today and tomorrow. We take your progression seriously, that’s why you’ll find excellent opportunities for personal development and all the support you need to explore your future career. Investing in our people is important to us, so we offer a comprehensive training programme, and you’ll find plenty of choice, including everything from self-defence to first aid and presentation skills. That’s why this is a role with all the goods – and it could really take you somewhere.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for people with a keen eye for detail and who care about a job well done, for your team and for our customers. Ideally, you’ll bring recent experience of working in a warehouse environment, with forklift truck experience, although we can train you up if not. Naturally, there are aspects of the job that involve lifting and carrying heavy loads safely, and working to meet operating standards, but we’ll provide you with the aids and processes to do your work safely.
Show us you’re a team player, great at problem-solving and full of ideas to increase the effectiveness and quality of what we do.

Why our people stay
There are so many perks from the moment you join us. We’ve mentioned the contract, the holiday, the onsite canteen and more. But we’re also a known consigner, a trusted employer and we have a real reputation for excellence everywhere we go. That’s why working here brings a sense of pride and job security you won’t find elsewhere.

What happens next
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. Handling diplomatic cargo with diplomatic immunity is a very important task, so this role is no different. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process. Permanent contracts require Developed Vetting (DV). Fixed Term Contracts require Security Clearance (SC). Yes, this will take time – but it will be worth it. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
