Knowledge and Information Manager

You are interested in the organisation and governance structures that are used to ensure the right information is available at the right time to the right people, so that they can make informed decisions.

At FCDO Services we would like you to bring your experience in Knowledge and Information Management to help us keep our data organised and ensure it is available to our staff who are making those important decisions.

Help our Knowledge and Information Management Team go from strength to strength, you will be implementing policies, processes and guidance to ensure our staff understand and use the tools that are available to them in-line with the Government and corporate strategy. Identify any issues and gaps in understanding within the business areas and address these deficits. As you’d expect, your focus will be on maintaining our digital and paper records. You’ll also maintain a proportionate audit function that measures compliance to legal and regulatory requirements. And you’ll be responsible for the data governance and information architecture upon our corporate IT Systems.

Apply your expertise to our role

We’re looking for someone with strong IT skills, especially around content management and databases. You will be familiar with the general principles and specific applications of the organisation of information. You will have knowledge of taxonomies, metadata and standards. You will have an understanding of the principles of data analysis. And you’re able to analyse problems and information systematically, and present to your findings to people with no or limited understanding of subject matter. You can easily put yourself in the shoes of our colleagues. You are organised and capable of helping others to follow naming conventions and guidance to ensure that they organise data correctly. What’s more, your communication skills are excellent, and you take initiative and responsibility in your work. The vital work the team do is across the organisation at all levels, both in the UK and overseas.

Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.
