After all, as Category Lead, you’ll head up a team that sources goods, services and works for secure government construction projects across continents. Pull on your knowledge to push global security projects

You’re experienced when it comes to procurement within Estates. You’ve got a finger on the pulse of business trends, and extensive knowledge of supply chains. And you’re ready to share all that with your team. You’ll advise senior management on new trends and ways to work. You’ll lead the way and provide advice that enables your team to manage their transactions and relationships more effectively. And you’ll provide management support on our biggest projects and wider market opportunities, helping us succeed at the most critical moments.

This is vital work: procurement for projects that defend the UK’s interests, and its citizens, at home and overseas. With high stakes and high-level customers, it’s vital we keep to our customer promise, to be reliable, responsive, and build relationships. You’ll be key to that in your procurement strategy, making sure we deliver every time. A natural leader, you’ll be good with people – both inside and outside your team. You’ll develop commercial relationships with key contacts, so that we get the best value for money from the most trusted suppliers. Plus, you’ll mentor other staff and work with senior stakeholders in our business to make sure everyone understands and supports your procurement strategy.
