At FCDO Services (formerly known as FCO Services), we protect the UK’s interests across the world by providing secure construction, digital and logistics services to all sorts of government-level customers, including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Our work is varied and wide-ranging: everything from making earthquake repairs at an embassy to protecting visa application records. For those who join us, that means being part of a business doing vital and complex work every day.
So, where do you come in? We’ve recently launched a new Diversity and Inclusion strategy, and now we need a diversity expert at the helm to oversee its implementation and develop future strategy. In a nutshell, this is your chance to lead the way on all things equality, diversity and inclusion at FCDO Services.
Make positive changes that are felt around the world
In this brand-new role, we’re looking for someone with clear vision and depth of knowledge to take us in the right direction. Someone who’ll get stuck in and make positive changes that are felt across FCDO Services, all around the world. To do that, you’ll be well-versed in the very latest D&I research and best practice, which you’ll then communicate with credibility to the wider business. It’s very much about collaboration: working seamlessly with senior leaders, project managers and external partners to improve and embed our D&I strategy at all levels.
Bring your diversity expertise onto the global stage
You’ll sink your teeth into challenges that are as varied as the work we do across the globe. One day you might be liaising with the Civil Service networks, or presenting to our own Board, and the next you’re advising teams on internal and external communications that demonstrate our ambitions as an inclusive employer. But no matter what your day brings, you’ll be a trusted voice – one that people seek out for expert guidance and support.
You’ll also help us to uphold our customer promise: to be reliable, responsive and build relationships – all things that will come naturally to you. While having government experience is a plus, we’re more focused on the fresh outlook you’ll bring and how you’ll help us to do things a bit differently. So if you’re from the private sector, you’ll show us best practice from wider industry and have a track record of actually delivering D&I strategies and initiatives.
Deliver for our people and we’ll deliver for you
There’s plenty we’ll expect from our Senior Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead. But we’ll give you a lot back too. That starts with great benefits, including flexible working, an on-site nursery, a Civil Service pension, and more. And finally, most importantly, there’s that sense of purpose and impact you’ll feel – because you’ll be using your skills to improve a business that helps protect people, information and assets all around the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.
