Director of Finance

Welcome to FCDO Services: a team that protects people, information and assets all over the world. We construct and repair government buildings. We safeguard government tech. We deliver vital supplies securely to embassies in 168 countries. And we do a lot more besides. Our work is vital.

Join us, and you’ll be putting your financial expertise to use in a whole new way - working for the benefit of the country and the Government.

Use your experience in a way that means much more

Supporting our Chief Operating Officer, you’ll help us to deliver our financial goals. Your insight and guidance will drive the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation. This is a senior leadership role, so you’ll oversee the creation and implementation of a clear, cohesive and focused financial strategy: a strategy that is underpinned by a robust approach to risk management, financial compliance, and financial planning. We’re looking for someone who understands how to manage third party costs efficiently – a skill most likely gained within the engineering, technology or construction industries.

Discover a sense of purpose like no other

Whilst you’ll already be familiar with leading the financial function of a large, complex organisation, with revenues in excess of £130m each year, you’ll find a new sense of purpose in it here. As you contribute to the wider business strategy, develop specific financial strategies that support our corporate plan, and continue to build excellent relationships at Executive Board level, you’ll soon recognise the contribution you’re making to the country.

Contribute to a much bigger picture

As you translate technical information clearly and concisely, liaise with our senior leaders, build strategy and delivery on financial goals, your influence will be felt across the organisation - and your impact will be both national and global. Your outlook will be bigger here too.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on out website.
