London Car Services Manager

At FCDO Services (formerly known as FCO Services), we protect information, assets and people for government bodies worldwide. Whether it’s building and repairing embassies, delivering diplomatic goods across borders, or installing secure IT for government buildings, our vital work is vast and highly impactful.

Nowhere is that truer than in our Queen’s Messengers team, who enable secure government deliveries every day. With a support team in the UK as well as travelling Queen’s Messengers, we ensure that diplomatic goods are escorted to their destination safely and securely. We also make sure nothing is examined or interfered with en route, in line with the Vienna Convention. It means the government bodies we work with can have peace of mind that their critical deliveries are in safe hands.

In the UK, that takes an exceptional support service. From planning resource schedules to delivering an impeccable service, as a London Car Service Manager, it’ll be your role to manage the integration and execution of a diverse range of activities within Logistical Services.

Deliver an extraordinary service, every day

You’ll work alongside a wide range of teams, so this role requires excellent management and organisational skills. It’ll be down to you to ensure vehicles and drivers are legally compliant, while maintaining a prompt and high-quality service to fulfil each customer’s request. Ultimately, your focus will be on improving performance, all while playing a part in reducing our carbon footprint.

Develop a team dedicated to ensuring results

Working at the heart of the Queen’s Messenger Service, it’s important you maintain our high standards, with a promise to be reliable, responsive, and build relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels. With urgent service demands to meet, you’ll help in shaping our development and operating policies. Managing a close-knit team, you’ll oversee day-to-day coordination of the scheduling and resourcing process, ensuring your team deliver remarkable results each and every day.

Bring your expertise and find exceptional opportunity

As a London Car Service Manager, you’ll work with diverse stakeholders, so strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage priorities are key. You’ll have a good track record of managing teams in a customer service environment, as well as an excellent attention to detail. Previous experience working in a government environment would be beneficial, as well as a clear understanding of security requirements.

In turn, you’ll find exceptional opportunity to thrive and grow within FCDO Services. Whether it’s our generous Civil Service pension, or the endless opportunities for internal training and career growth, you’ll find true rewards here – and an incredible sense of pride in what you do. Ultimately, it’s your job, bigger.
All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.

Applications close on 1st February 2021.
